Thread: GRUB 1.97 GRUB loading boot issue

i have been struggling on issue many hours can think of. have toshiba satellite m45 laptop , have never had horrible problem. reason grub rescue> came because working on cleaning pc , ran easeup partition manager clean ubuntu on xp machine reboot pc, came each time. have tried adjust bios settings reboot via fd (flash drive), cd-rom - unsuccessfully not working again , again.

have tried ls, set=root (fd0) , set=prefix(fd0) commands , did not work out @ all!

when tried type sudo, grub, etc said unknown filesystem. think of commands gone because accidently deleted ubuntu/grub off system. have tried boot using fd unetbootin 1 user suggestion in freenode channel - #grub. doesn't work either assume bios corrupted because each time boot laptop goes directly grub loading error: unknown filesystem each time boot. bios settings change not work , absolutely has no effect on commands request laptop this.

see at, , stumped issue. want boot ubuntu , reinstall or windows xp or anything. want boot machine, , that's care about. anybody???

if cannot solved did make plans go computer shop have them run full diagnostics have them replace parts. need laptop working. , appreciate if can out!
