hi there, i've upgraded 9.10 on several machines, coming 8.10 on couple, , 9.04 on third. 1 of friends stored lot of info in nautilus notes feature, , needs recover data use in shiny new karmic install. little trawling on web has found metadata stored under ~/.nautilus/metafiles/ xml files, , fine, i've located these folders on backed-up /home partitions old machines. problem in 9.10 there doesn't appear metadata folder under ~/.nautilus. i've tried adding notes pre-existing files on new install in case cause nautilus generate folder , files, no avail. stat-ing files reveals no modification time changes, nor change in bytesize, i'm reasonably sure notes aren't being added metadata in actual file somewhere. searching modified files doesn't show appears relevant, i'm @ loss. put simply, question this: know if nautilus 2.28.1 (the version included in karmic) stores file metadata anywhere other ~/.nautilus/metafiles/

i installed 9.1 (desktop) , today ran updates. installed fine ... got prompted restart. system restarted did not auto-login (thats how had setup). appears attempt auto login fails , prompts me login. i have minelab sovereign gt metal detector has target id meter. the meter lcd display @ times hard read , quite basic. i'm looking @ creating new 1 scratch oled display , bit of functionality. there little info on wiring figured since lcd powered detector , gets target id value must possible arduino powered , read value. normally 4 wires go detector coil. digital meter 5 come detector , 4 leave digital meter has cable used connect meter wire. 1 tid or target id straight detector has (after using multi-meter) -5v +5v correspond directly values on meter. i pulled id meter apart , did testing/investigation. it seems 4 wires leave 2 pairs make 2 coils. voltage in these fluctuated quite bit , small. there small circuit board between 5 incoming wires , lcd screen , understand does... not how. basically somehow creates stable 8.75v lcd runs off , signal seems 0 0.5v (instead of original -5 +5v) feeds din pin on it. as experiment able power arduino uno detector using 8.75v on bar

i using photoshop cs2 , premiere pro 7.0. have captured 16:9 widescreen video of dv camcorder premiere, transfers aspect ratio fine. export video filmstrip edit in photoshop , filmstrip appears fine. each box in filmstrip displays 16:9 video footage blank space on top , bottom because widescreen image. problem comes in after save edited filmstrip , send premiere. filmstrip imported premiere, , video has black border going around entirely. images appear squished bit, yet whole window still in normal 16:9. know screwed up? know have go , edit whole video on again, want make sure right. in order maintain 16:9 aspect ratio of original video, aspect ratio should export filmstrip as? tried ntsc, square pixels, , dv/dvpro widescreen (16:9) of them import premiere incorrectly. figured square pixels best choice since leaves video alone entirely , doesn't stretch, wrong. how got myself situation explained. can help? edit: noticed odd. checked properties of original video clip , indeed had p
