Need Help: PS CS3 on Intel Mac 10 .4.9 Cannot Open Any Files

cs3 has been stable me. of sudden not open type of file. spinning beach ball , need force quit. "photoshop not responding" message in force quit window.

i've tried open own ps-made jpegs , own .psd files no luck. happens whether double click file or use open dialog. tried files on different drives well.

i've repaired permissions on boot disk no luck. i've got disk warrior i'm @ work , home.

any suggestions? need project finished here today.

just created new user account , ps cs3 seems ok in new account. i'm guessing preferences corrupt?

can point out files need trash , are?
