jules,
my first thought, in regard new computer, means have new graphics card or perhaps motherboard-integrated graphics chipset. either way, change factor since how graphics chipset handles color can vary 1 system another, if cards identical...at least seems observations on years. time perform change of hardware think remotely related affecting color, or apply major operating system udpate such windows xp service packs, i'll go in , recalibrate system in case drivers impacted.
you "my monitor calibrated", question 1 of did recalibrate after computer upgrade? if not, key thing , may resolve problems in , of itself.
i'm not sure best settings use phaser, automatic profile selection may not best choice. if have had success before though, wrong. anytime print photoshop espon r1800, follow advice of disabling icm in printer properties, selecting specific paper type i'm printing to, related printer profile paper, , select "let photoshop manage colors" in photoshop print dialog, again correct printer profile selected.
as recall, ps7 had different dialog current approach used. if same ps cs, i've got on on work pc, i'd enable "show more options", select menu option "color management", , set profile "print space" paper type being used.
hope helps,
daryl
