i have advent roma:
processor: intel celeron c900
ram: 3gig
hdd: 250

haven't had luck win comes linux last laptop put on kind of killed although linked on heating not os pc world being annoying put politely wouldn't touch machine because had linux on it.

have had put linux on netbook , remix version , wondering worth putting ubuntu on above laptop or sticking windows 7. or going face problems did compaq?

you can try install ubuntu. if want avaid whatever trick pc world played on previous laptop can wubi install (install linux within windows).

unless did strange things in linux on previous laptop, linux cannot have been cause of laptop overheating. did try contacting compag directly assistance? afaik hp (which believe owns compaq now) acknowledges linux valid operating system.

missing filename after '-o'
