Thread: running anti-virus on live ubuntu to check windows HDD

is possible run live cd/usb ubuntu in order clean windows drive of viruses? friend severely infected. cannot access native avg. idea boot box off live edition , and run anti-virus scan on native drive.

i've been using ubuntu since dapper have never tried before don't know if possible.

also, have talked guy switching linux set in ways.

there other ideas besides system restore , complete reinstall?

i don't know doing ubuntu try out trinity rescue kit has 4 different virus scanners built in it.

missing filename after '-o'
