Basic Layer Question ( I should already know).

scenario:

open image/ background layer. duplicate layer, , apply levels adjustment i'm happy with.

next, decide "effect" layer such sharpening, etc., want able control effect of "sharpening" layer opacity slider, without effecting levels layer below.

if duplicate levels layer, or select layer new-"layer via copy" sharpening layer, moving opacity slider, on sharpening layer, effect degree of levels adjustment on levels layer, it's duplicate of layer.

"new layer", or "new layer background" doesn't seem work either???

missing filename after '-o'
