Thread: Restore Display Resolution settings to Xubuntu while in LiveCD session

i bought 22" flat screen monitor. plugged in. xubuntu found it, no problem. tried lower resolution, screen big icons & stuff. screen lit message "out of range". not xfce desktop.

did alt-sys/ctrl r e s u b k , rebooted safely, when tried log in, enter password. screen showed (like) blue supernova swirly , came asking password. knows user name.

can fixed in live cd session in ubuntu-karmic???

you can boot recovery mode , select xfix menu

try moving xorg.conf

code:
# mount xubuntu partition sudo mount /dev/sdxy /mnt cd /mnt/etc/x11 mv xorg.conf xorg.cong.bak
reboot hard drive.
