Thread: Which python version should I start with?

hi, i'm using ubuntu 3 weeks or less now, first linux distro, , i'm interested explore linux , python @ same time. ask which python version should start with? , i'm starting adore linux windows (at least )

python 2.6; it's installed default in jaunty , karmic. python 3 out there many 3rd party packages/libraries don't support yet, , it's easier make transition 2.6->3 other way around, because of guides you'll find in direction.

python doesn't change 1 version next, change bit faster languages.

highly recommend ipython interactive python sessions.
