Powering Pi from PC PSU? - Raspberry Pi Forums

i have spare atx psu (currently powering car cd player) has 2 5v rails each rated 25watt.
see issue in powering pi3b or other pi directly psu?

should add fuse between pi , power cables? can power multiple pis without additional circuitry, using common vcc , common ground point?

5v, 25w 5a. yes, can run 1 or 2 pis, maybe more 1 rail.

5a fuse protect psu accidents such shorting output.
separate fuse each pi protect cable feeding pi (otherwise should use cable carry full 5a each pi, though each pi won't using full 5a)

if plan on connecting pis @ output of psu, shouldn't need components (apart fuse each)
if there significant length of common cable, current drawn 1 pi affect voltage seen pi, may need add smoothing, or regulation.

if plan on having devices connected more 1 pi, may need consider voltage dropped along ground lines - 1 pi's ground @ different voltage another's

Using phone battery to power a plane.

hello, i'm trying mount arduino on falcon rc plane fly using cellphone (via bluetooth), problem haven't got original battery i'm trying find light-weight 1 use it. i've tested mc power lab 3003 , works @ maximum speed 5.0v , 3.11a. the plane has 2 dc motors, no flaps, no slats. turn speeds 1 of them depending on side go to. my actual question if can use nokia lumia 605 battery power motors. have tested half-charged 1 of motors, worked (the 4 seconds tested it). will burn, explode, heat or suitable? its characteristics are: nokia bl-5h 1839mah 3.7v 6.8wh li-ion and question, use arduino motor shield (designed 2dc motors, 2 servos , 1 stepper) handle plane's motors? thanks in advance. you need ask question on model airplane forum. it usual model airplanes draw huge current batteries keep down battery weight. if at, example, hobby king website see lipo batteries have c rating - such 15c or 20c. means can safely deliver current equal 15 (o...
