Thread: Ubuntu 8.10 randomly disappears

i have laptop ubuntu 8.10 on screen broken hooked monitor. screen disappear , show black 2/3 of screen on laptop broken. when on laptop's 1/3 of screen there can't see hole thing(because 1/3). suggestions?

i have emachines monitor.
