opening 16bit images in Layers

i created sequence in apple motion , want export single frame use in photoshop project.

i exporting motion 16bit tiff (i tried psd) alpha channel. when open image in photoshop has solid background!

when use same setttings -- change output 8 bit -- show transparent background.

how can open 16bit image alpha layer in ps cs3 has transparent background?

that sounds motion exports tiff alpha channel instead of transparency (a mistake in tiff code), 16 bit.

if tiff file written correctly, work.
