Thread: Dell mini 12 + Ubuntu netbook remix 9.10

i installed ubuntu netboox remix on dell mini 12.

experience ok, had install broadcom sta driver working.

1 thing unacceptable, graphics. super slow. found out runs vesa default , tried install poulsbo driver, first from:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/hardwaresupp...ocardspoulsbo/
, upgraded to:
http://gadgetmix.com/index/new-gma-5...-karmic-koala/

now, 2d seems work bit faster, cannot compiz running (i whitelisted it) error:

gandalf@gandalf-laptop:~$ compiz
checking xgl: not present.
xset q doesn't reveal location of log file. using fallback /var/log/xorg.0.log
detected pci id vga:
checking texture_from_pixmap: not present.
trying again indirect rendering:
checking texture_from_pixmap: not present.
aborting , using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity

, glxinfo, glxgears give:

gandalf@gandalf-laptop:~$ glxinfo
glxinfo: error while loading shared libraries: libgl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

has experience this?

ok, after hour, reverted jaunty drivers , things started working.

now, unfortunately compiz leaves ugly artifacts around whenever switch windows.
