Thread: How Do I Restore GRUB to a Cloned HD?


i decided way system clone partition. did on 60gb hd. test it, tried setting boot hd. didn't boot - filled screen word "grub". figure didn't clone grub right , need re-install it.

hod figure out (hdx,x) install to? if go find /boot/grub/stage1, hd looking @ (i have both system , backup clone installed @ moment)

let's better @ setup & boot process. boot ubuntu live cd/usb. choose "try ubuntu without changes", when desktop loads come here , use link in signature download boot info script desktop. once on desktop open terminal (applications > accessories > terminal) , run command

sudo bash ~/desktop/boot_info_script*.sh
create results.txt file on desktop. paste entire contents of file here. once pasted highlight text , click # sign on toolbar place code tags around text.
