hi, very strange behavior: i tried install 1.5 on 2 different servers , installation seemed ok, except ftp step. don't remember said, effect configuration file not written or not database info not in there , user administrator not created. so when went site got message connection db not possible. so, on 1 of servers tried start over, dropping tables database , removing files document root. downloading archive again joombla site, expanding , starting browser on site http://www.universaldocument.com . instead of getting preinstallation check please remember completely remove installation directory but don't want because try install again. tried clearing browser cache, no difference. where remember tried install previously?? mean wiped directory website , database, there should nothing left old installation, right? can that? thanks, merlin hi, sometimes there files left behind previous installs. make sure there no files previous install. make sure don't have directory or fil...

i have few desktop environments on machine, , wasn't using gnome few weeks. yesterday, when logged gnome, had compiz, had no window decorations - had had metacity running. tried several things, compiz give me decorations if used emerald. if used metacity (metacity --replace), compiz stop running. has else had problem? there solution, or has compiz reverted old ways of not running metacity? (am running ubuntu 9.10, compiz 0.8.4.) much! i'm on kde right now, can't test metacity, fusion-icon should able handle this, since can select kwin window decorator compiz, instead of emerald (although use emerald). hi folks, well, sounds straightforward, isn't me. situation ... nvidea or other - registering geforce 210 ... it's got 3 outputs, dvi, vga , hdvi. i've got 19" flat panel (aoc wj1980) plugged in vga , 21" widescreen (kds kl2200dw) plugged in dvi. nvidea x server recognises aoc screen 0 , 21" screen 1. why problem? well, i'll explain.. in twin view, games see both screens 1 big screen. i'd play them on wide screen panel right in front of me , main work. however, doesn't this. if take monitors out of twin view mode, kde desktop on 19" , blank x window on wide screen ... not good. system giving preference 19" , can't stop doing this. way have of playing games @ moment, replace xorg.conf 1 sees 1 screen , restart x. however, working on 19" ... can't thing single screen on wide screen. i've tried sorts of cutting , pasting xorg.conf file , can't it. can ple...
