Photoshop CS2 not opening files

i have been having problem several weeks now. when ever try open file in photoshop cs2, spools little rainbow circle , never opens file. thankfully, still have photoshop cs on computer can run things through that. there seems no rhyme or reason why doesn't open files. can psd files, jpg files, low res, high res, directly computer or firewire hard drive connected computer.

any ideas on what's going on?

missing filename after '-o'
