Retouching mono logo

hi

i have greyscale logo needs used on till roll. till accepts 2-bit, black & white (no greys) images.

obviously making image jagged around curves. know there can done here. there techniques may smooth out?

thanks

simon

uprez 6 times original resolution using bicubic smoother. make bitmap. can try gaussian blurring little after uprez if smooth edges more important sharp corners.

another way make 2 bitmaps (convert grayscale this, when done, convert bitmap) on top of each other , paint in smoother 1 (made blurring more , more) on open curves, leave original or blurred 1 untouched tight curves , corners.

or trace thing using pen tool , you're set (but can hard , more time consuming complex logos).
