Using Pi reset pins to get to a 'safe' state - Raspberry Pi Forums

i looking simple way 'safely' shut down rpi - without going through sudo poweroff process.

can see pulling rpi board in reset shorting reset pins not best way board safe state before cutting power ensure avoid corrupting sd card ? rpi not doing writes sd card other linux doing in background. can relativity rpi able complete start-up processes before being turned off in way, not resetting part way through start-up.

have tried quite few times on weekend , seems ok know if have been luck !

if run sudo poweroff pulling reset after 10 blinks on activity led safe.

pulling while system in full flow risks corrupting sdcard.

controlled power down, power on timer @ wittypi 2 add-on board.
