cloning tool option click doesn't work

when using clone tool, try option click, crosshairs not come up, function doesn't work. when try clone message:

"could not use cloning tool stamp because area clone has not been defined".

the thing has changed updater tried install yesterday , failed. today option click clone tool doesn't work.

has else experienced this? suggestions? i'm using cs2 tiger os.

i seeing same issue. after while using cs3, option click button acts erratically , unable select source point. cursor rapidly alternates system mouse arrow clone tool source point. no amount of clicking when cursor acts selects point.

the workaround have found must save work, , restart cs3. works every time until starts happen again.
