CS3 - Use existing image as an Alpha channel within another image?
greetings! wonder if may shed light on issue me.
i have 2 x *.dds files. 1 default model texture (with no alpha channel) , other lightmap, has different visible graphics of texture file. however, alpha channel of lightmap uses texture file detail.
my question, need recreate these scratch, how import existing image existing image , use alpha channel. far each time have tried original information overwritten.
here's screengrab of i'm trying achieve. recap, i'm trying use image 1 alpha channel in image 2 (as shown).

i'm assuming images same pixel dimensions. if second image grayscale, can load selection first, choosing second source, save selection channel in first image.
i'm not sure you're expecting alpha channel be, if source color image.
