ftp links are getting http address added at beginning of url - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i running site want insert links files exist on separate ftp server due bandwidth concerns.

whenever create content item , insert link, base url of site, http://www.metla.org gets added @ beginning looks http://www.metla.org/ftp://metla.psd.therest.ofthe.url

i tried 2 different editors, tinymce , joomlafck, same result. therefore, think joomla problem. using joomla 1.0.8 stable.

another thing, if use http address link, don't url information @ beginning. happens ftp addresses.

any ideas?
