In need of Lightweight 12MP Camera - Raspberry Pi Forums

the camera not used video; used photos.

purpose of (photo) camera trigger multiple times , catch clear image possible of slow moving object. example, being able see dimples in slow rolling basketball.

needs light-weight possible, many pixles possible, , designed take "action" photo's.

clarity of image priority, i'm trying avoid motion blur as possible. also, price point irrelevant.

help! :d :d :d

sorry, there no 12mpix sensors connect pi camera port , use soc processing. ov5647 5mpix , imx219 8mpix supported.

there usb webcams claim have resolution of 12mpix, of fake resolution interpolation (upsampling). quality of optics variable.
there may option use dslr this. there optics should good, , allow remote triggering , file transfer (may need 1 of fancy wifi sd cards offload data, eg eyefi although there multiple manufacturers). not light weight though.

alternatively can take 8mpix imx219 , use alternative lens give pixels need them? i'm playing various lenses mounted on standard pi camera using either cs mount or m12. need small amount of filing sits on connector on camera board, , screw spacing isn't quite perfect (21mm instead of 20mm) little fettling required mount neatly. results impressive long decent spec lens.

avoiding motion blur means short shutter speeds. therefore need lit scenes (or big pixels on sensor, means lower resolution). if haven't got decent illumination you're wasting time.
