Thread: Why did ubuntu install just fine this time but wouldn't 8 months ago?


well, last time tried install ubuntu, couldn't live cd boot up. couldn't knoppix load. couldn't suse load. in april intrepid ibex.

able older distros load @ earlier time. hardware change made since switching ide cd drive sata cd drive.

anyways downloaded, burned, , booted 9.10. installed , typing message on right now. changed between 8.10 , 9.10 allowed ubuntu load properly? i'm not sure how linux works, guess 1 of kernel updates fixed problem having?

just guess maybe didn't have sata drivers.
