Thread: Low buck dual quad xeon server for virtualbox host

i need build box run multiple concurrent vbox machines. intend build network of virtual machines within single host test ideas work. going doing on ultra tight budget using decent not cutting edge hardware. have done research , found cheapest quad core xeons e5310s fine need (~300 pair used). run 8g of ram (2g host, 1g each virtual) , add more later if needed (~$180 used) , use intel s5000pslsata board available new $100. board not have revision newer processors makes cheap , fine me since i'm not using them. have rest of items psu, drives , such theres no other cost me.

here see problem running processor/board combo ubuntu server 64 bit?
