Mac seems to print larger than Windows!

im still new mac having been windows pc user years. i've seen far. reasonably competent photoshop cs3 , have loaded mac version.

i have 24" imac latest leopard.

main printer epson r2400 use canon pixma ip8500 , both worked fine pc.

i had number of cs3 files set in folder on windows pc , copied these on mac. involve image of 7.5" x 5.5" centred (on a4 canvas) , framed thin 1px border of 10" x 8". these particular task perform , need that. have lot of straightforward images in folders resize them 12" x 10" , print out.

all seem print out larger i'm telling them do. example, images 1px border of 10" x 8" print out 0.25" bigger. isn't huge problem other images 1px bordered ones need size specify (apart frustrating me won't ask!). i'm doing reduce scale 98% , comes out near enough want.

anyone have tips?

all things being equal, prints should identical, whether run out of win or mac machine. control within epson software, , side-by-side comparison of settings in order. suggest first sure page setup... configured same way on both machines.

First use of Arduino Uno : avrdude error on Blink uploading

hi all, i bought arduino (or should genuino) starter kit. first test , failing. i have follow religiously first pages , when trying upload blink sketch, uploading fails avrdude error : avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer not responding. as suggested in other posts, have tried 1) switch latest hourly build of arduino ide 2) switch previous stable version of arduino ide (1.6.09) 3) change usb cable 1 know working fine 4) make same steps on computer (unfortunatelly, of them macos running on macos 10.11.6, not interesting test) 5) press reset before upload, interesting thing : tx led never flashes the full log attached. idea of why happening ? to save people having download log, it's sync error, resp=0x00 every time: code: [select] avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer not responding avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00 avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer not responding and he's running 1.6.11 hourly avrdude 6.0.1. ...
