Thread: jaunty 'add-apt repository'

hello all....
read somewhere else adding ppa:launchpad repositories in karmic (article writer using 'mint linux'). article mentioned used following code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bisigi
new command 'add-apt-repository' available in karmic or better?
googled it, couldn't find answers...searching forum yielded clue:

"add-apt-repository provided package python-software-properties"

have package in jaunty...but command 'add-apt-repository' yields command not found error. know command not needed edit sources.list manually or gui----its find command interesting , add if @ possible. point neat use....
know if available jaunty or less users?
there backports of python-software-properties enable 'feature'????

as far know, karmic thing, not available in earlier versions.

missing filename after '-o'
