Photoshop CS4 CPU Question...

hello,

i hope had happy , safe holidays. welcome 2009.

i have friend pentium 4 system , wants run photoshop cs4
extended on it. right has 1gb of ram , while plans buy
a new system later year, use 1 has now.
can install 1gb of ram, system requirements pscs4e
only states 2ghz or faster processor. doesn't state minium specific
kind of processor.

so question photoshop cs4 extended run on fast pentium 4
machine 2gb of ram, windows xp pro?

i suggest pentium 4 slow. have old p4
notebook here belonging daughter doesn't use , has
cs3 quite slow.
my own machines quad core running cs4 with16gb ram , making use of
the gpu , fast can @ present. need
large photos using gigapan camera files in gigabyte range.
