Performance Stats - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support


we have received request build portal expected have high rate of visitors , need know
the performance of joomla! under condition. our expectation have 30,000 visitors each day / 25,000 articles /
50,000 images - 100,000 page views per day.

from sites supposed fit on above listed characteristcs, need following information:
- hardware used
- number of search requests per day
- number of downloads per day
- number of users logged simutaneously

i after effective data (numeric) rather subjective information. sure joomla! able accomplish
tasks have convince people of that.

well, 1 of sites has following traffic.
server - dual xeon 2.4ghz, 2gig ram, dual scsi raid 1 hard drives
webserver software - lighttpd (it's faster)
php 5.2.2
mysql 5.0.18
100mbit uplink internet

stats here on 48 hour period
total hits: 26,178,998
total pages (html, php pages): 8,346,177
unique visitors: 85,147
bandwidth used: 78,191,296,000
max req/sec: 750
average req/sec: 152
users logged in (in joomla): around 200

server load durring period
simultaneous connections (http) average: 900
average bandwidth usage: 10mbit
max cpu%: 20
max linux cpu load 1 minute: 1.13
memory usage: 1.98gb (mysql caches used around 750 megs of this).



high traffic doable joomla, need think extensions use, need tweak queries in both core , extensions.  need tweak mysql significantly.  numbers pagecache component enabled (on php5, there's no disadvantage).  if want more information or consult, let me know.
