Thread: Cannot install Ubuntu Desktop 9.10


hi,

i've been windows user want install , learn ubuntu.

have followed instructions download , burn iso file on disk. after trying unsuccessfully 4 times install asking help.

start installation process bootable disk , seems normal. couple of times reach 70% installation , twice 90% when laptop shut down no error messages.

have 100gb allocated ubuntu in logical partition.

laptop:
acer aspire 7720-6208
intel core 2 duo processor t5450 (1.66 ghz)
3gb ddr2
320gb hdd
dvd-super multi dl

first of all, need have unallocated space ubuntu can create necessary partitions inside. in case, doesn't seem problem because installation starting, mention, don't create partition in advance, leave space unallocated. during step 4 of installer can create partitions manually if want or use guided option when you're new ubuntu , linux.
did try run try ubuntu option cd? run ubuntu cd can see how runs on particular hardware.
thing try creating bootable usb stick iso , try that.
