Thread: Multi Session login with vnc?

hey pretty new linux , ubuntu. decided create fileserver/media center machine living room. far has been fantastic experience wouldn't able without search function on these forums!

want not sure possible.

have machine hooked tv via dvi. on screen have logged user , running xbmc.

able vnc same computer , log user in gnome. can see desktop , such out effecting screen hooked dvi. basicly have desktop "sessions" running @ once , 1 being connected dvi while other connected via vnc.

ubuntu 9.10 , using x11vnc vnc viewer right because of compiz issue nvidia drivers.

have searched , searched , have yet find answer this....

thanks!

by default x11vnc connect x display on physical graphics hardware. want "vncserver" package instead (virtual desktop sessions.)

btw, if install "xvfb" package , use "x11vnc -create" can create virtual (i.e. ram-only) desktops well. if go route, ask if have questions.
