Unable to change order or articles - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i'm publishing several articles on frontpage. first article static content , should remain @ first position. additional articles make news , published on following places on screen.
my problem i'm not able pin first article @ topmost place. i've tried ordering articles via administrator , creating sections (1) , 2 categories (static , news) , ordering these. nothing seems work- haven't found way change order of articles 1.5rc1.

any appreciated.
