Thread: Boot hangs up after Samba reloads (in both recovery/normal boot)

hi,

got problem @ bootup server. may related apt-get update && upgrade i've made sereval of recently... i'm not sure.

i've tried both recovery , normal startup mode. i'm running karmic koala kernel 2.6.31-16 x64.

last line showing (in both recovery , "splash quiet") is
""reloading /etc/samba/smb.conf" "smdb only"
...done

, here hangs.

maybe helpful know daemon initiating after samba-daemon. (just suggesting..i dont know)

i've been checking /var/log/samba/log.smbd files, don't find because root-system in permanent read-only.
forgot mention i'm able go "maintenance mode" root login typing then.
of course read-only mode then.
, i'm not ever sure how system writeable if need configuration fix boot-up issue.

advices! i'm bit newbie @ debugging since can't see output on screen, nor dmesg.

did change smbd.conf, if did make backup?

if have backup can boot live cd , copy smbd.conf new backup, copy fist backup smbd.conf.

try attach unaltered smbd.conf 8.04 server 64bit.

realized, don't seem have smbd.conf. have smb.conf. original post typo or missing something?
