is 1vss ok oscillator amplitude or shall 5vss lik on perfect working uno?
i want test tomorrow put 1mhz 5vss (with: hef4093b + 10kohm + 100pf) on tis xtal1 pin connect avrdude.

it might depend on how clock select fuses configured expect 5v square wave work in cases when external oscillator selected.  adafruit has version of arduinoisp outputs 8 mhz clock on pin 9 can injected xtal1 pin if crystal need , none available.
