How do I change a line color to brown

i need change lines in layer black/gray brown. tried change right clicking (ps 7.0) , blending options tried bunch of stuff , nothing seems work: color overlay, blend mode, blend if... can't color!!!
i appreciate if tell me how this? color need somewhere between #734002 , #b16203.

turn off visibilty on other layers. go channels , ctrl-click on composite (rgb or cmyk) channel selection of line. ctrl-shift-i inverse selection. choose color ,
back on layer (or in new layer) alt-delete fill color want.
