Let the smoke out...
not sure did wrong - tried powering arduino nano (clone) 12v supply (through pin 30) , things got hot. ethernet adaptor let lot of smoke out first , although nano has lights on when plug usb, chip on top (atmega328p) gets hot , can't access it. fortunately, seems usb isn't fried too, relief

is regulator that's blown (and able replaced) or should cut losses , chuck them away?
