custom poster i whant to make with photoshop

hi whant make poster photoshop , size of poster going 36x48 when open photoshop cs2 go file new , asks me width , height width put 48 , height put 36 in inches got 120-130 pictures whant put in canvas. how able fast instead of useing crop tool time doesnt take me entire life make poster.also 36x48 inches right if whant make poster going 36x48 or have change it? , if nice please tell me instructions on how poster start finish. alot
