Relay to control a water pump

hey everyone,
i'm interested in trying automate plant watering system , wondering if had idea how current small submersible water pump draw. i'm trying decide how current relay use needs able handle. of course small water pump vague i'm trying water 1 plant , haven't decided how big pump exactly.

well, let's start volume of water want pump, 1 liter per minute, 5 gallons per minute?
how plan power pump 120 or 240 volts ac or 6, 12, 24 volt dc?
wall power or solar or batteries?
