Thread: file / folder permissions tweek - help


hello,

seeking method of having files in directory (and subdirectories) inherit file permissions of directory time moved or copied directory.

background: have 2 users (jack 'n jill) , i've set /media/shared directory. directory belongs group "users" , jack 'n jill both belong group. want configure system such anytime jack or jill copy file /media/shared (or subdirectories) file belong group "users".

challenge (by default?) whenever jack or jill logged in, file 1 creates set group (and user) "jack" or "jill" case may be.

in short, i'd have directory both users can share files have full permissions.

possible achieve without script?

appreciated. in advance.
