Thread: Internet Connection @ LAN Party

hey everyone,

wondering if me out here.

basically, in jan next year running small lan party, dedicated server.

dedicated server installation of ubuntu 8.10, of ubuntu desktop removed (all gnome packages). used command found here that, didnt install kubuntu packages after. installed gdm, xorg, xfce4, synaptic, xterm, firefox, gksu. lightweight system. on there lamp installation, things autominous lan party , tunez, plus srcds , cod4 servers etc.

"dedicated server" laptop has gigabit network port on it. when run network, connecting cat6 cable laptops gigabit gigabit port on cisco 48 port switch, players connected to.

means lan working fine, wish introduce internet equation, limit on dedicated server (probably squid?) people can access sites+services. onboard laptop wlan card, connect router in room provide incoming traffic internet access.

how go bridging these connections through squid or whatever need use?

hope makes sense!!

thanks,

harrison

makes sense me! wish you, that's little out of league. think squid idea though, understand does, , sounds fits bill perfectly. regular @ website has substantial network orientation, particularly linux. check documents there, might have stuff squid in there: http://linuxhomenetworking.com
