Best format for saving & resizing photo with transparent background

i have product shots cut out background, background transparent. best format save these in preserve transparency , resize photo in future? seem remember long ago tiffs don't resize easily? when saved shot eps couldn't find way preserve transparency. these client wants send these shots various publications ads, need can resize. help!

which page layout program going into?

indesign take transparent psd files. quark might require clipping paths.

if going various publications, publications have requirements/specifications should follow.

i'm not sure mean tiffs not resizing easily.
