Thread: I messed up my network configuration

fellow ubunters,

honestly, have no idea did or how did must've changed (maybe hosts file or something), totally own fault.

have ubuntu intrepid , can't go online. funny thing is, ip address , can go router's config page (192.168.1.1). can't ping www.google.com response router's ip.

when pop in ubuntu livecd or when boot windows works fine, can go online no problems.

must wrong intrepid's network setup.

don't want reinstall ubuntu. please help.

can ping internet ip address? try

if works, check /etc/resolv.conf see if have valid nameservers listed.

missing filename after '-o'
