Thread: Radeon HD 58xx and Linux


hey all,

i'm building pc , i'm in bit of pickle on gpu front, since want directx 11 support, need (well, sort of need) linux. has tried radeon hd 5850 or 5870 under linux? did of decent results under ubuntu 9.10, kubuntu 9.10, slackware or arch?

i can guarantee you'll absolutely 0 directx performance... because directx doesn't exist in linux. rendering in linux done opengl.

don't know how 2 cards work, know radeon cards don't typically have amazing 3d performance on linux compared nvidia cards; drivers aren't yet.

asking because you're gamer, or there else you're doing graphics card(s)?
