Trouble with speakers
i'm working on a project need play audio. after seraching found thread:
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=62002.0
and assembled circuit:
(ignore backwars capacitor). irf1404 mosfet have instead of irf3707z.
my speaker 8ohm 50mm, 0.5w , 86db spl iirc. instead of 12v supplied 3.7, 5, 7.4 , 11.1 similar volume results options. loudest result 5v , think around 1a, wasn't loud (70db attending soundmeter app).
now, in order improve ordered 4ohm 40mm, 3w speaker. turns out same power supplies speaker less loud. newbie me doesn't make sense. reason?

what reason?the current through speakers limited dc blocking capacitor. make bigger , sound louder.

turns out same power supplies speaker less loud.that because speakers handle more power less efficient, same amount of current on higher power speaker sounds quieter.
