Program upgrade choice

advanced amateur, canon 40d, have photoshop elements 2.0, photoshop album 2.0 , premiere elements 3.0, have been using canon software ver 6 stuff editing , converting, shoot raw format in 16 bit color depth converting tiff files, suggestions on adobe products give me bang dollar?

well, since you're posting in photoshop forum, it's of here photoshop. however, versions of elements several years old, , might worthwhile upgrade latest version (elements 7 announced) before spending hundreds of dollars on photoshop cs3/4.

keep in mind told software using -- not trying it, or if feel limits in way. bang buck though? elements.
