File Info just gives me a blank dialog box

i starting use ps cs4. using pc windows xp 64, 8 gb of ram etc. problem having when try add caption image going file info, blank dialog box. gives filename @ top plain white blank inside box. same thing happens in file info within bridge. in metadata panel in bridge, can see metadata there, including previous captions. cannot access them in file info , cannot activate caption within metadata panel edit caption text.
has else had problem , if so, how can fixed?

most fix full re-install, if xmp messed up. if e.g. templates in place in c:\program files\common files\adobe\xmp , see if it's merely problem folder permissions, program can't access them, beyond seems more complicated matter.

missing filename after '-o'
