Upgrade Photoshop from CS2 to CS3 in Macintosh

i using photoshop cs2 mac version , not have cs3 beta version installed. have couple installation questions answers hard find anywhere else, hope can find them forum.

since heard lot of troubles regarding upgrading ps cs2 cs3 if there cs3 beta version installed in mac, little nervous. here questions:

1. can cs2 , cs3 co-exist?
2. have manually uninstalled cs2 prior upgrading? if yes, how do it? assuming cs3 upgrade should have program uninstall previous versions of ps, correct?
3. how deal current registration?
4. have third-party plug-ins such onone mask pro 4.0, nik color efex pro 2.0 installed in cs2. what's right procedure should take avoid re-installation?
5. have lightroom installed now, cs3 upgrade affect it? need take action?

1. multiple versions of photoshop can co-exist on computer.
2. no, not have uninstall cs2 before installing cs3.
3. upgrading, prompted how , enter appropriate serial numbers.
4. recommend first double-check third-party plug-ins compatible , not require upgrading. , fresh installation of them.
5. no. coexist.

before doing installation, first run apple's disk utility by first booting off mac x installation dvd , run disk , permissions repairs. boot off diskwarrior's disk , run repairs well. couldn't hurt run cocktail's pilot module (off hard drive) either. then, without else running, read readme files , proper installation, activation , registration of cs3. , follow another round disk utility. , if you're me, round of diskwarrior.

time-consuming? yes. pain in behind? again, yes. but, being conservative , spending more time installation now, have fewer quirks , problems system long haul. it's been me past 17 years i've used macs (although if ran windows machine, i'd diligent -- maybe more so).
