hi, have aiy kit working fine, want use other purposes. example, idea of having retropie installation running side side aiy stuff. tried setup retropie emulationstation ran problem. when have pi hooked via hdmi tv, sound still comes out through onboard aiy speaker. want output via tv. other side of that, when playing games, still want able "ok google" , have response come through normal onboard speaker, if have tv on input, i'd still need able hear it. possible? isolate audio aiy , else, , specify explicitly audio route take per application? thanks. the aiy kit comes external soundchip (dac) should not disable hdmi sound if use jackplug output. alsa sound system should see both audio devices if dac default. dont have aiy kit (yet) dont know if uses ".asoundrc" file in /home/pi pi user select sound output. might thread here explains how to use hdmi out aiy goes details. maybe creating separate user own ".asoundrc" file , starting retropie ...

this first post , hopefuly not last. longtime computer user. have suffered ms path beginning, dos 1.0. use win xp pro. have abandoned ms apps on last couple of years , ms left on computers operating system. migrate linux , ubuntu appears least painful way go. year or ago installed whatever current version of ubuntu on partition , mucked around week or so. removed because printer , scanner not supported. gave 9.1 version try , found supported printer, partially. looks it's time make move , if have replace older scanner or printer, beit. after installing on partition tweezed fro couple of days couldn't performance desired apps use. gimp pokey @ editing graphics , audacity choppy editing sound files. once again shelved idea. looking assistance others have similar requirements. below list current hardware , primary useage. expect achieve same, or better, performance have in xp. rather not upgrade hardware @ least 5 years old not entirely out of question. har...

i have photoshop cs , have been using long time on computer - , has been fine. i'm trying open - , won't open. initialization takes forever (it long - long) , message application not responding. there nothing new computer - no new hardware or software. , else runs fine. i'm going through procedure see if have virus or other kind of malware - i'm wondering if has had similar experience - , if so, solution was. thanks in advance consideration. have tried trashing prefs maybe corrupt. if don't know how covered in faqs.
