Redirecting audio for other uses - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi, have aiy kit working fine, want use other purposes. example, idea of having retropie installation running side side aiy stuff. tried setup retropie emulationstation ran problem. when have pi hooked via hdmi tv, sound still comes out through onboard aiy speaker. want output via tv. other side of that, when playing games, still want able "ok google" , have response come through normal onboard speaker, if have tv on input, i'd still need able hear it. possible? isolate audio aiy , else, , specify explicitly audio route take per application? thanks. the aiy kit comes external soundchip (dac) should not disable hdmi sound if use jackplug output. alsa sound system should see both audio devices if dac default. dont have aiy kit (yet) dont know if uses ".asoundrc" file in /home/pi pi user select sound output. might thread here explains how to use hdmi out aiy goes details. maybe creating separate user own ".asoundrc" file , starting retropie ...
